Energy Tracking’s WEM-MX Smart Meter allows Temple to get a Refund

The BAPS Temple in Parsippany, NJ was overwhelmed by high utility bills for over a year. An internal energy audit indicated that their peak demand and energy usage should be lower than what was being reported on their Utility bill. Initial contact with the utility resulted that the burden of proof was up to the Temple representatives.

Energy Tracking’s WEM-MX meter was chosen to sub meter the building’s incoming energy consumption. The WEM-MX tracked peak demand, consumption and also acquired 15 minute Interval / Load Profile data which was collected over one month and the results confirmed that the utility’s meter multiplier was significantly off. These details were provided to the utility and the end result was that BAPS Temple will recover more than $50,000.00 on their energy costs.

The WEM-MX is a Web Enabled Meter that combines revenue grade electric metering accuracy and an Ethernet enabled solution for two way communications and reporting on a smart grid. This smart Internet enabled energy meter provides a superior solution with the ability to be accessed in real time via a standard web browser and be configured to send consumption, demand and load profile reports via email, ftp or XML/SOAP web service client using HTTP.
